All Natural Ways to Increase Hair Growth

Saturday, December 17, 2011

The thought of losing your hair is scary to a lot of people. There are numerous different creams and surgical procedures that doctors and salesmen love to push on people as the one way to keep from losing your hair or to get your hair back. What consumers don’t realize is that there are all natural ways to increase hair growth. Some of them are dwelling right in your refrigerator.

Check out your diet. What you’re eating or not eating could be killing your hair.  Foods that are high in protein help increase hair growth because this is what hair is made out of, protein. Types of foods recommended are peanut butter, steak, fish, whey, chicken and cottage cheese. These are all rich in protein and will promote hair growth. Other foods don’t necessarily kill your hair but a lack of protein robs hair follicles of the nutrients they need. Don’t forget to drink your water. Drinking the required 6-8 glasses per day can help eliminate toxins and purify your system which helps with hair growth.

Supplement your diet with Biotin and Magnesium. Adding these two supplements helps to promote blood flow to the extremities and increases function of the nervous system. These two things promote growth of the hair, nails and skin. Not only will you have more hair but your skin and nails will be clearer and younger looking.

Massage your scalp everyday to increase hair growth. The best technique is to do this while in the shower.  Spread your fingers all over your scalp and use only the pads of your fingers. Now begin to move your fingers and scalp in circular movements in order to increase blood flow to these areas. Continue this for 5 minutes at a time. It is recommended to perform this message at least 3-4 days a week.

What to Look For When Choosing a Small Kitchen Appliance

Thursday, December 15, 2011

So you’ve just purchased or are renting a new place. Or you simply are giving your old kitchen a makeover. You already have your major appliances, that is, the stove or cook top, the refrigerator, the oven and the dishwasher. The next items that you need to buy are smaller kitchen appliances. Here are some helpful tips on what to look for when choosing a small kitchen appliance.

The first thing you need to establish is what exactly it is that you want. To make this decision easier, make a list. Write down the tasks that you want the appliances to perform. Once you have done this you will soon see a pattern. You may even realize that you need more than one appliance. Now that you are armed with your list, let us move on.

Because there are so many out there, it is very important to know what to look for when choosing a small kitchen appliance. At some point in everyone’s life, they have watched an advertisement on cable TV. Many kitchen appliances are marketed this way, and are thus termed ‘As Seen on TV’ appliances. This category of appliances can be very deceptive. The ads are designed in such a way, to make the consumer believe the product is actually being used.

The reality is that, like the actors who are used in the ads, the appliances are merely props. A lot of behind the scenes work goes into fooling the consumer. Unless you get an opportunity to use these products, we recommend that you do not buy them.

Once you have found the appliance that you need, try to find out how easy it is to clean. It may sound like an unimportant quality to look for, but here is why you should. Would you eat food that is one month old? We did not think so. Food can become lodged in the tiny crevices of the appliance, and will eventually lead to mold or bacteria build up. This will be transferred to the new food placed in the appliance.

Check to see if the product that you want to buy comes with a warranty. Many times manufacturers knowingly sell faulty products, and will never compensate the unfortunate buyer. Note carefully what the warranty covers.

Because you have already established what it is that you want the appliance to do, it is not recommended that you purchase something that does a whole lot more. The reason for this is that the cost of multifunction products will be much larger than a less sophisticated model. It makes no sense to go buy it if you will only use one function.

This is only a brief set of tips on what to look for when choosing a small kitchen appliance.  Do your research on the internet before committing to any product.

The Difference in Bag and Bagless Vacuums

Friday, December 9, 2011

When it comes down to choosing a new vacuum cleaner, knowing the difference in bag and bagless vacuums can help you choose the right vacuum cleaner for you. Before we get into the differences however, lets discuss how vacuum cleaners work.

Vacuums use suction to lift the dirt and transfer it into the main compartment of the vacuum cleaner. The machine’s motor turns the fan blades, which create the suctioning power of the vacuum. Once the vacuum has sucked the dirt up, it is carried to a bag or cylinder where it can then be emptied.

A bagged vacuum cleaner works by drawing up air and dirt through the suction hose and then into the bag that is attached to the hose. These bags have tiny holes which allow the air to pass through, but collect the larger dust and dirt particles. Once the bag begins to fill up, the power of suctioning will decrease as the air will not be able to flow as well through the debris that has been collected in the bag. When this occurs, you will need to replace the bag. The advantages of a bagged vacuum cleaner are that they are very easy to operate, and inexpensive. The bags are either disposable or reusable, and can also be very inexpensive. The disadvantage of this is that buying new bags for your vacuum will be an ongoing expense. Also, if you have reusable bags, the time it takes to empty them, clean them, and dry them may be a bit of a pain.

Bagless vacuum cleaners work by using a rotating air flow inside the cylinder where the dirt is collected. Dust and dirt are sucked into the machine with the rotating air and then passed through a variety of filters that allow the air to escape but leaves the dirt in the cylinder. The cylinder needs to be emptied regularly to avoid a decrease in suction power. Because bagless vacuum cleaners run air through a series of tubes and filters, it is a noisier and more expensive option than a bagged vacuum cleaner. These types of vacuum cleaners are also more prone to having problems with the motors because dust can accumulate around it. Because bagless vacuums have a clear dirt bin, it is easier to remember when it is time to empty it, and you do not have the ongoing cost of replacing the bags. The filters will also need to be replaced fairly often to maintain the effectiveness of your machine.

My Favorite Channels

Monday, November 28, 2011

Posted by Von Battle

It’s so funny how I have so many channels on my direct tv las vegas, but I always gravitate towards the same few. I always seem to watch Bravo, E!, MTV, The Travel Channel and The Food Network. One might think that because we have so many more channels now, we would watch them, but I’ve noticed my husband does the same thing. He hates the channels that I like to watch, but he only watches ESPN, and Spike. It drives me craxy when he gets stuck on a Gangland marathon. Maybe I’ll start looking into what some of the other channels have to offer so I can start branching out, and maybe we can find some channels we both like. There has to be some good TV shows out there. I don’t think there is really a reason I stick to my regular channels, except for habit. I have a lot of friends who love shows on FX , HBO, and Showtime. It’s too bad that HBO and Showtime would cost me extra because I’ve seen some of their original shows at friend’s houses and they really are good. Maybe I’ll consider springing for them in January after I’m done with all of my holiday spending.

Upgrade Your Bathroom

Thursday, November 24, 2011

A claw foot tub is very beautiful to add to almost any elegant bathroom. It doesn’t leave your bathroom looking plain and original. Although it is very hard to find claw foot tubs in today’s stores because built in bath tubs are more common. A clawfoot tub and a standalone sink make the bathroom look cleaner and neater. I think eventually claw foot tubs are becoming more in style like they once were.
