An Unusual Valentine Gift

Sunday, February 12, 2012

I know Valentine's Day is all about flowers, card and candy. However, this year I was looking for a little gift that would be something different for my honey. He has been doing quite a bit of welding and to tell you the truth, I've been concerned about the old helmet he has been using. He's had it for years and I think it's time for a new one. So, this Valentine's Day I've bought him a new miller welding helmet. I know it's different, but it's something he can use and won't go out and purchase it for himself. Best of all, he's going to be surprised!

Moving Away

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Thanks to Wm Rowe

I went to www.texaselectricityproviders.com when I first moved in because this is far and away the biggest house I’ve ever lived in. I love being part of a group but my family is getting SO big and the kids are overtaking us so we both knew we needed to upsize. I can’t wait to get all our stuff totally moved in since we’re still somewhat living out of boxes and that can get really old. I think it’s important to note that I’m really prepared and very type-a usually so it’s killing me not to be organized an not having everything fall in a line like I want it to. This move’s been really tough for me to get behind but I knew it was the best thing for me and my family and I love having more space in the house. With three kids and two dogs that little 3 bedroom just wasn’t working for us anymore so we did what we had to do to take it up a notch!

Oral B Rembrandt Tooth Whitening Pen
This product is new and is becoming popular because of its results. It is easy to apply and see results in no time. You can also carry it anywhere you go and not worry of tooth discoloration. Though the price is a bit higher compared to some tooth whitening pens in the market, the price is nothing to compare with the quick results you can get.

Crest White Strips
Crest White Strips is also one of the easiest ways to whiten teeth. You just wear it twice daily on the surface of you teeth and after which, you can see noticeable results. The drawback of this product is that it’s super sticky that it sometimes hurt and builds up saliva in your mouth.

The Best Gift Ever

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

My husband is trying to think of the best gift ever for his son this year on his birthday. I came up with a great idea this afternoon and can't wait to share my idea with him when he gets home from work. If it were left up to me, then I think we should get him a martin gpcpa4. He has wanted one for a long time and he will be graduating college soon, so I think it's time he deserves one. I know he is responsible enough to take care of it now, which is the only reason we haven't bought him one as of yet.

INSOMNIA – SYMPTOMS, CURES AND HOME REMEDIES

Insomnia is defined as the inability to fall asleep or the ability to remain asleep long enough to feel rested. This medical condition can range from a mild problem that occurs occasionally to a severe problem that lasts over a period of time.

SYMPTOMS AND TYPES

There are four major symptoms of insomnia. These are difficulty in falling asleep, waking up often during the night and having trouble going back to sleep, waking up too early in the morning and lastly, feeling tired upon waking in the morning.

There are also two types of insomnia, primary and secondary. Primary insomnia is when a person is having sleep problems that are not related to any other health or medical condition. Secondary insomnia occurs when a person has other health issues going on, such as asthma, depression, cancer, heartburn or other pain. Insomnia can also vary with how long it lasts or how often it occurs. This is called Acute or Chronic Insomnia. Insomnia is labeled as chronic when the patient has sleep difficulties more than 3 nights a week for a month or more. Acute insomnia can last from one night to more than a week.

CAUSES OF INSOMNIA

Acute insomnia can be brought on by a variety of different problems in a person’s life. These include life stresses, such as the loss of a job, death of a loved one, divorce and moving. It can also be brought on by illness, emotional or physical discomfort, and environmental factors such as light, noise, extreme temperatures, medications or jet lag. Chronic insomnia can be caused by anxiety or depression, a chronic illness or stress or pain or discomfort that is accelerated at night.

CURES AND HOME REMEDIES

If you believe you are suffering from either acute or chronic insomnia, there are different things you can adjust to help you get the rest you need at night. The best first step is to take care of any underlying causes that may be affecting your ability to sleep through the night. This may be as simple to fix as a visit to your physician and getting a change in your medications. Other ways to alleviate the symptoms of insomnia is by taking a look at your daily life and habits. It is possible that some of the things you are doing to help your insomnia may actually be causing it. A good example of this is a patient who is using over the counter sleep aids or alcohol to help them sleep at night. Over a period of time, these can actually disrupt your sleep more. Drinking excessive amounts of coffee during the day can also be a culprit as to your sleep patterns at night. The caffeine in coffee can stay in your system for hours after you’ve finished that steaming cup.
Adopting a few new habits can easily help you get the sleep you need. Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet and cool. If there is no way to completely block out noises or light, try using a sleeping mask and mask outside noise with a fan, a sound machine, or earplugs.

Stick to a sleep schedule. Going to bed at the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning will adjust your inner clock and get you back into a normal sleep rhythm.

Avoid taking naps during the day. If you feel you have to take a nap during the day, limit it to 30 minutes and do not take a nap after 3 pm. Following these rules will help you sleep at night.

Avoid stimulating activities and stressful situations before bedtime. These activities can include excercising, big discussions, arguments, watching tv, using the computer or playing video games. These types of activities can get the brain stimulated enough where it will be difficult to settle down for sleep.

Lastly, avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol before you go to bed. By keeping the last few hours before you go to sleep free of these stimuli, it will be easier for you to fall asleep!

The thought of losing your hair is scary to a lot of people. There are numerous different creams and surgical procedures that doctors and salesmen love to push on people as the one way to keep from losing your hair or to get your hair back. What consumers don’t realize is that there are all natural ways to increase hair growth. Some of them are dwelling right in your refrigerator.

Check out your diet. What you’re eating or not eating could be killing your hair.  Foods that are high in protein help increase hair growth because this is what hair is made out of, protein. Types of foods recommended are peanut butter, steak, fish, whey, chicken and cottage cheese. These are all rich in protein and will promote hair growth. Other foods don’t necessarily kill your hair but a lack of protein robs hair follicles of the nutrients they need. Don’t forget to drink your water. Drinking the required 6-8 glasses per day can help eliminate toxins and purify your system which helps with hair growth.

Supplement your diet with Biotin and Magnesium. Adding these two supplements helps to promote blood flow to the extremities and increases function of the nervous system. These two things promote growth of the hair, nails and skin. Not only will you have more hair but your skin and nails will be clearer and younger looking.

Massage your scalp everyday to increase hair growth. The best technique is to do this while in the shower.  Spread your fingers all over your scalp and use only the pads of your fingers. Now begin to move your fingers and scalp in circular movements in order to increase blood flow to these areas. Continue this for 5 minutes at a time. It is recommended to perform this message at least 3-4 days a week.

What to Look For When Choosing a Small Kitchen Appliance

Thursday, December 15, 2011

So you’ve just purchased or are renting a new place. Or you simply are giving your old kitchen a makeover. You already have your major appliances, that is, the stove or cook top, the refrigerator, the oven and the dishwasher. The next items that you need to buy are smaller kitchen appliances. Here are some helpful tips on what to look for when choosing a small kitchen appliance.

The first thing you need to establish is what exactly it is that you want. To make this decision easier, make a list. Write down the tasks that you want the appliances to perform. Once you have done this you will soon see a pattern. You may even realize that you need more than one appliance. Now that you are armed with your list, let us move on.

Because there are so many out there, it is very important to know what to look for when choosing a small kitchen appliance. At some point in everyone’s life, they have watched an advertisement on cable TV. Many kitchen appliances are marketed this way, and are thus termed ‘As Seen on TV’ appliances. This category of appliances can be very deceptive. The ads are designed in such a way, to make the consumer believe the product is actually being used.

The reality is that, like the actors who are used in the ads, the appliances are merely props. A lot of behind the scenes work goes into fooling the consumer. Unless you get an opportunity to use these products, we recommend that you do not buy them.

Once you have found the appliance that you need, try to find out how easy it is to clean. It may sound like an unimportant quality to look for, but here is why you should. Would you eat food that is one month old? We did not think so. Food can become lodged in the tiny crevices of the appliance, and will eventually lead to mold or bacteria build up. This will be transferred to the new food placed in the appliance.

Check to see if the product that you want to buy comes with a warranty. Many times manufacturers knowingly sell faulty products, and will never compensate the unfortunate buyer. Note carefully what the warranty covers.

Because you have already established what it is that you want the appliance to do, it is not recommended that you purchase something that does a whole lot more. The reason for this is that the cost of multifunction products will be much larger than a less sophisticated model. It makes no sense to go buy it if you will only use one function.

This is only a brief set of tips on what to look for when choosing a small kitchen appliance.  Do your research on the internet before committing to any product.
