A Ford, What every teenager needs!

Monday, October 6, 2008

Did you hear the latest news? Starting next year Ford is coming out with a new feature on many of their 2010 models. It is a feature that can limit drivers to 80 mph. It does this by using a computer chip in the key. Parents will also have the option of programming the teen's key to limit the audio system's volume! How cool is that? It will also have a feature of sounding a continuous alerts if the driver doesn't wear a seat belt. This feature is called "MyKey." This feature will eventually be in all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury as each model is updated. Ford decided on the 80 mph limit even though freeway speed limits are lower in most states. They wanted to leave a margin just in case unusual situation arises. I, personally, think 70 mph would have been fast enough for any teenager. This feature start with the Focus compact car and quickly move to other company models as a standard feature. I'm excited to see how quick other companies will start the same thing. This could really be a good thing for the future!

You would think 70 mph was enough, but in West Texas hrough the flat desert the speed limitis 80 mph. I think that is the max in the US so that is why. The few times I have driven in that direction though, I felt like I was going entirely to fast.
